Oblong Lacquer Tray - Covent Garden

This oblong Wild Ginger tray, featuring original artwork by Simon Privett, celebrates Buckingham Palace, the official London residence of the monarch since 1837. Once a private house for the Duke of Buckingham, it was transformed over generations into the grand, stuccoed façade recognised the world over, its balcony the backdrop to some of the nation's most memorable moments.

From the ceremony of the Changing of the Guard to the crowds gathered along the Mall on days of celebration, the Palace remains the beating heart of royal and public life in Britain.

Part of our London collection, honouring the landmark that has stood at the centre of national life for nearly two centuries. Features original artwork by Simon Privett.
