Oblong Lacquer Tray - Palace of Westminster
Oblong Lacquer Tray - Palace of Westminster
Rebuilt after a fire swept through the old palace in 1834, the Palace of Westminster has stood on the banks of the Thames for nearly two centuries as the seat of British democracy. This oblong Wild Ginger tray captures its Gothic Revival towers and spires in original artwork by Simon Privett, from the clock tower housing Big Ben to the intricate stonework that took over thirty years to complete.
Few buildings carry the weight of a nation's history quite like this one — a skyline landmark as much as a working seat of government, recognised the world over.
Part of our London collection, marking the building where the city's political story has been written for generations.
